BEAR # 91     ARTIST: LENORE DEMENT of JUST WEE BEARS     SOLD
Olivia wants to be an actress, and she's just stylish enough to pull it off.  She's 18" tall and made of a honey gold distressed mohair.  She has brown glass eyes, brown embroidered nose and mouth, and suede paw pads.  She's wearing an old collar trimmed with pink bows.  Added to the ribbons on her ears are little pink roses.  Olivia also has a rose on her right wrist.  San Diego bear artist Lenore Dement made Olivia in 1990.  Since she started making bears, Lenore has earned 17 Golden Teddy and TOBY nominations, and won 2 Golden Teddy Awards in 1999.  She started her company, Just Wee Bears, in 1989.  She was inspired by the old Steiff bears, trying to make her creations look like those traditional heirloom teddies.  This bear pre-dates her work with the Barton's Creek Collection by Gund by many years.
