The House of Nisbet started
as a doll-making venture in the early 1950s. In the late 1970s, it added
collectible teddy bears to its line. Nisbet dolls and bears are known for their
authenticity and quality. A team of dedicated and highly skilled
needle-women in West Country of England create the company's products.
Much of the work is done by hand, meaning no two bears are exactly alike.
This is Jack's Bear
(model 5191) named for Jack Wilson, the creator and maker of Nisbet's entire
teddy bear collection. He's part of a
limited edition
of 5,000 bears, all denoted by a sewn in label and an accompanying
certificate of authenticity,
which is signed by Jack himself. Fully jointed, he's 15" tall, made in a
luxury two-toned cream and beige fur that is a crushed, pure Alpaca fabric.
He has black eyes, an embroidered nose and mouth, and suede paw pads.
