German immigrant Adolph Gund
started what is now the leading soft toy manufacturer in the U.S. in 1898 in
Norwalk, CT. It was one of the first companies to produce teddy bears,
back in the early 1900s. Here is another pair of critters from the Gund
Tiny Tales collection. These two little white rabbits measure 8",
including their ears. They're fully jointed, with glass eyes, pink
embroidered noses, and gray fur paw pads. From 1985, the little girl wears
a flowered dress with a lace slip and a green bow in her ear. The little
boy wears a matching tux with pearl buttons and tails. He has a white lace
trimmed vest and dark green velvet shoes. Each has a tiny tail.
