Alabama artist Hazel Metzler made
a variety of critters, selling them at flea markets and shows around the South
in the mid-1980s. This is a 21" fully jointed bear made of a dark brown
acrylic. He has glass eyes, black embroidered nose, trimmed muzzle, and
ultra suede paw pads. He wears an orange cotton bow.

I have to admit that eating
is my favorite pasttime.
Absolutely not a bear! This
is one of Hazel's antiqued cloth pigs. He's dressed in his engineer's outfit --
blue shirt, blue and white striped bib overalls and cap, and a red bandana.
His eyes and mouth are embroidered. He's 17" tall. He's not jointed,
but he is autographed,
numbered, and dated by Hazel.
