According to her web site, Pam Pontious started making bears (and other
critters) when she was young. Because she never felt commercial patterns
got it quite right, she came up with her own changes. After going to a
teddy bear show in 1986, she started Pamda Bears, and now sells her bears (and
rabbits and fowl) all across the country. This is Laurence, a fully
jointed 15" bear made of 100% distressed mohair. He has black glass eyes,
embroidered nose and mouth, suede paw pads, and a brilliant blue bow. He
wears a bracelet of wooden hearts on his wrist. He also has his own little
hand made
folk art rabbit.
