For children and adults alike, The Ultimate Teddy Bear Book charts almost a century of lovable teddies, from the first German stuffed bears, to such famous personalities as the original "Teddy" named for President Theodore Roosevelt, to Winnie-the-Pooh, Paddington, and Smokey.  Each chapter begins with an analysis of the bear typical of that era.  Included are discussions of clothes, important accessories, and other contemporary "beariana," such as china, jewelry, posters, and books.  Pauline Cockrill was the exhibitions officer of the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood, a department of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.  Rosemary and Paul Volpp are two of America’s leading teddy bear collectors and have written articles in Teddy Bear & Friends and many other publications.  Hardback book, 128 pages, dust cover and book in excellent condition.  Printed 1991.

An irresistible collection of more than 500 Teddy Bears, from Paddington Bear to Winnie-the-Pooh. Beginning with the history of the teddy bear to its emergence as a soft, furry toy, this book includes a section on how teddy bears are made, plus a trip into the world of books to see bears as famous and beloved as Winnie-the-Pooh and Rupert.  There is also a section of early postcards and greeting cards featuring bears.  Bear Land is illustrated with over 200 photographs of bears from around the world, most of which have never been reproduced before.  Deborah Stratton was antiques columnist on the Sunday Telegraph, a feature writer on Art and Antiques Weekly and has been a columnist on Antiques Trade Gazette and a London correspondent of Art and Auction, New York.  Her books include the Sunday Telegraph Guide to Antiques Collecting.  Michael Bond, creator of Paddington Bear, contributes an introduction to this book.  Mr. Bond’s first story about Paddington was published in 1958.  Hardback, 96 pages, dust cover and book in extremely good condition.  Lower corner on the back of the book slightly bent.  Printed 1992.

An historical guide for collectors, this book is the full story about the strong association of President Roosevelt and Clifford Berryman, illustrated with many of Berryman’s best and least known cartoons.  Illustrated with 35 color and 181 black and white examples, this important contribution to the history of the Teddy Bear is certain to be numbered among the few notable books on this subject.  Linda Mullins, a teddy bear maker, collector and promoter of Teddy Bear Shows across the country, has written several guides to Teddy Bears.  Soft back book, 160 pages, excellent condition.  Printed 1987.
